The Story
It started with one very tall Bigfoot
A hand-built, eight-foot yard art Bigfoot has stood watch over my backyard for a couple of years now. When my grandbabies started spending more and more time on their screens, I wanted to bring them into my Bigfoot world instead — so Knotty got a name, a story, and some friends. Yeti came next, then Mr. Jim, our resident trail guide lumberjack (modeled after my husband, lol). Three of the young explorers — Ensley, Lawson, and Ruthie — are named for three of my own six grandbabies.
What began as a yard sculpture turned into something bigger: storybooks, coloring books, and free trail activities, all built to do exactly what I wanted for my own grandkids — get them off their screens, even just for part of the day, and back outside exploring with their imaginations.
